On behalf of our client, Saint-Gobain Abrasives – one of the world’s leading suppliers to the industrial sectors – we are looking for an experienced and proactive Sales Manager to head the Danish operations.
This company specializes in the development and supply of advanced abrasive solutions, including grinding media, cutting and grinding products, and diamond tools.
These products are widely used in industries such as metalworking, construction, automotive, and DIY, enabling efficient shaping and surface finishing of various materials – even in the most complex and demanding applications.
As Sales Manager, you will take full commercial responsibility for the Danish market, including team leadership, budget ownership, and direct customer contact. You will play a key role in executing the company’s growth strategy in close collaboration with Nordic and European colleagues.
If you bring solid B2B sales management experience, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of results, this could be your next big opportunity – in a company that invests in both people and progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Danish sales team – including performance management, KPIs, and coaching.
- Own the sales budget and margins – ensuring financial targets are met.
- Develop new and existing customer relationships – with focus on growth through distribution partners.
- Take personal responsibility for key accounts – understand the customer’s business and deliver value.
- Execute sales strategies and marketing plans – aligned with overall company objectives.
- Build and strengthen customer and internal networks – nationally and internationally.
- Conduct ongoing market analysis – identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Ensure compliance with policies and standards – including ISO, safety, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in sales management – preferably within industrial distribution or construction.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, combined with technical insight.
- Experience in Key Account Management.
- Ability to think strategically and commercially – including developing sales and marketing plans.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Capable of understanding and demonstrating technical products – ideally with experience from similar industries.
- Flexible and mobile – with willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.
- Education: Commercial or technical background – ideally supplemented with relevant studies in sales, leadership, or business development.
- Languages: Native-level Danish and professional English skills (written and spoken). Understanding of Swedish is a plus, but not required.
- IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with ERP systems. Quick to adapt to new digital tools.
- Location: Based centrally in Denmark.
Personal Characteristics
You are outgoing, competitive, and able to build strong rapport with others.
You have a natural ability to motivate your team and bring fresh ideas that open new sales opportunities.
You communicate in a direct yet friendly manner and have the presence to lead from the front.
You are decisive, solution-oriented, and thrive in a dynamic workday with many moving parts. A bit of impatience when it comes to achieving results is seen as a strength here.
What We Offer
Saint-Gobain Abrasives offers a key leadership role in a global company with a strong brand and market-leading products.
As Sales Manager, you will take full strategic and operational responsibility for the Danish market, leading a team of five professionals. You will work closely with Nordic and European colleagues and have a clear influence on both sales development and customer strategy.
You’ll benefit from comprehensive onboarding, access to technical training through the company’s internal education program, and attractive employment terms – including a competitive salary package, pension, bonus, company car, and health insurance.
