Essential Skills:

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to take responsibility for securing and managing the data associated with our UK and global operations.

The Compliance Officer will be required to establish and protect all data captured and associated with the Company, ensuring compliance with the current Data Protection Regulations as well as the new GDPR / Data Protection Regulations. The Compliance Officer will also support the ongoing management of the ISO and Cyber Essentials programs.

Working with both IT and Operations, the Compliance Officer will have the necessary experience to both evaluate and recommend best practice around the storage and collection of personal information and experience of ISO accreditation and ongoing maintenance will be essential.

Key responsibilities also include:

Data Protection:

  • Ensure that the business, employees and other parties comply with the appropriate data protection legislation and regulations
  • Keep the appropriate stakeholders well-informed of all implications that the latest GDPR regulations may have on the business and how they will be dealt with accordingly
  • Provide advice and guidance to the business by pro-active support and involvement in business projects, including tenders and bids while supporting the business on day to day queries around data protection and privacy issues
  • Define and plan how the business will comply with any new data protection regulations and legislation, including the assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and training of staff involved in processing operations, and the related audits
  • Work with the IT team and the wider business to identify potential areas for development and recommend on how to improve data privacy controls.

ISO Quality Management:

  • Take ownership of Thomas' Quality Management System
  • Organisation of the audit schedule, quarterly management reviews and external audit visits
  • Keep up-to-date with any system changes or requirements
  • Record and investigate customer complaints and supplier non-conformances with the Operations Manager and report back with corrective actions, providing statistical analysis monthly

Sales Support:

  • Review and input on client proposals (outgoing) and contracts (inbound)
  • Terms of use and conditions
