This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic developer to learn new technologies, develop their skills and be part of the design process in a relaxed team-based environment.
We are a well-established IT department with a highly sophisticated Web-based application providing more than one million people assessments every year. The system allows candidates to undertake a variety of assessments within a web browser, and has a series of powerful administrative functions for analysing and reporting on the information provided.
The existing platform is developed and supported by our in-house development team based in Witney, Oxfordshire.
As well as maintaining the current system we are engaged in several ambitious ongoing projects. Thomas is a dynamic, constantly evolving company and our development team is responsible for creating best in breed products and innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
Thomas International provides people assessments which empower business leaders to transform the performance of their teams and individuals – and deliver an immediate impact on their organisation.
We help our clients recruit, retain, develop and manage their people. We’ll give insight into staff – what motivates them, their core strengths and limitations, and their potential. And we’ll add a high level of certainty to all people-related decisions.
Thomas is different because our assessments are straightforward to understand and quick to use, with rapid results. Our client service teams will train and advise and provide practical assistance. Their aim is to empower managers to use people assessments to create maximum value for their organisation.
Thomas has been at the forefront of assessment innovation since 1981. We provide assessments in 56 languages and have a presence in over 60 countries. Today we are working with 32,000 companies and 250,000 trained Thomas users worldwide. Our clients span every type of business of all sizes and complete over 1.5 million assessments every year.

The Job Profile suggests that the job incumbent will be required to operate in a technical, specialist or quality area of the organisation. The job requires a perfectionist who has an innate need to get things right and prefers to deal with things rather than people. Formulas, facts, logic and system are also important aspects of the position. The person fulfilling this function should have the ability to work in a steady, thorough and deliberate manner and have the persistence to see a job through to conclusion. Confrontation and unrealistic timescales should not be an important aspect of the job. Ideally the person should be conventional, co-operative, cautious, compliant, organised, predictable, methodical and routine-orientated. A questioning approach, concentration on detail and a non-assertive nature are also being called for within the position. The Job Profile implies that the job will be somewhat analytical and demand a high level of quality control.
