We are looking for an experienced HSE Manager
Our client, NorSea Danmark A/S, is looking for an experienced HSE Manager who will be responsible for managing and further developing the HSE function within NorSPIE.
NorSPIE is a consortium between NorSea Danmark A/S and SPIE Energy Danmark. The consortium works closely together on the General Maintenance Contract for TotalEnergies’ production platforms in the Danish offshore sector.
The team consists of highly skilled Danish and international colleagues who plan and coordinate maintenance activities both onshore and offshore, working closely with the offshore-based teams.
As HSE Manager, you will work with both the strategic and operational aspects of HSE. You will be responsible for ensuring that all activities comply with applicable HSE legislation, NorSea and SPIE standards, and client requirements.
You will also play a central role in strengthening the safety culture across onshore and offshore operations.
You will become a trusted adviser to management, employees, customers, vendors and other key stakeholders. You will establish clear frameworks, ensure effective follow-up and help create a working environment in which safety is a natural part of every decision and activity.
An important part of the role will be to translate observations, analyses, audits and incidents into tangible improvements. This requires you to maintain a strategic overview while remaining visible and actively involved in day-to-day operations.
If you are motivated by creating safe working conditions and have the ability to bring people, processes and requirements together, this could be the next step in your career.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and further develop NorSPIE’s overall HSE strategy and safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSE legislation, company standards, governance requirements and client requirements.
- Lead hazard identification and risk assessments, including HIRA.
- Manage incident reporting and investigations, including Root Cause Analysis, and ensure effective follow-up on corrective actions.
- Analyse HSE statistics to identify recurring incidents, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Follow up on Observation Cards and Preventive Observation Visits.
- Plan and conduct monthly HSE campaigns based on incidents, risk assessments, audit findings and observations.
- Ensure effective HSE onboarding of employees and vendors.
- Plan and participate in internal and external HSE audits, including offshore and workshop audits.
- Ensure that audit findings are addressed through clear and effective action plans.
- Maintain crisis management readiness and ensure that relevant procedures and training remain up to date.
- Maintain and implement the Bridging Document between NorSPIE and the client.
- Manage HSE reporting to NorSPIE, NorSea, SPIE, TotalEnergies and other relevant stakeholders.
- Cooperate closely with safety representatives.
- Maintain visible HSE leadership through a strong onshore presence and regular offshore engagement.
- Contribute to process safety, operational safety and plant integrity.
- Maintain and update relevant documentation within the Integrated Management System.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years’ HSE experience from the oil and gas industry.
- An MEng, a Master’s degree in HSE or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Documented experience with HIRA, incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience with internal and external audits.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 would be an advantage.
- An auditing qualification would be an advantage.
- The physical ability and willingness to work offshore when required.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work professionally with management, employees, customers, vendors and external partners.
- Professional proficiency in English at CEFR C1 level and Danish at CEFR B2 level.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office and relevant IT systems.
- The position is based in Esbjerg, so you should preferably live within a reasonable commuting distance.
Personal qualities
You have a confident manner and prefer a direct but friendly style of communication. You are comfortable making decisions and carefully consider the consequences before choosing a direction. You also possess a high degree of personal impact and natural authority.
You excel at stakeholder management and at building strong professional relationships across all levels of an organisation. Through clear and persuasive communication, you create engagement, gain support and ensure that important HSE messages are understood and translated into action.
You thrive in a role where you have to manage several priorities at the same time. You are comfortable working in a busy environment where interruptions and changing priorities are a natural part of the working day.
You bring drive and determination to your work while maintaining a consistently high level of quality.
You have a high degree of self-discipline, work confidently within established rules and procedures, and pay close attention to detail. At the same time, you are able to challenge existing practices constructively when you identify opportunities to improve safety or working methods.
What we offer
You will become part of a large international organisation and take on a central position with significant influence on both daily operations and the continued development of the HSE function.
The position offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. Your decisions and initiatives will have a direct impact on employees, managers, customers and the organisation as a whole.
You will join a professional working environment where safety, quality, collaboration and continuous improvement are fundamental priorities.
The position reports to the Contract Manager, with a functional reporting line to the QHSE Manager at SPIE Energy Danmark.
For the right candidate, there will be excellent opportunities for both personal and professional development.
A competitive compensation package will be offered, reflecting the level of responsibility and your qualifications.
